Welcome to our Family!

The official switch over has been done… just in time for Christmas and a new year!  From now on the site will be {hopefully} updated with family pictures, recent adventures, fun stuff we’ve been up to and the odd session.

It’s been a busy year around here and part of the reason for the switch from Professional Photographer to Mom with a Camera is that I have 3 children {you might have seen them on here from time to time…lol} and a busy life and a husband who has lived in our house less than 30% of the last three years.  Yup… he’s a busy guy too and is off all over Western Canada working hard.

So to be a better Mom, something had to give.

There are of course a few other things that led to the decision…lol

But in the end I am letting go of what I can to make more time for the little ones in our lives.  They will actually have regular pictures taken of them and I WILL get through editing my own personal pictures and maybe even get a baby book or two… or three done!

We also knew that maybe our family wasn’t completely done… hard to be done when the last baby is so darn cute!  So plans and decisions were made throughout the year and we are officially Foster Parents, with a whole new chapter emerging.  We may stick strictly to caring for little ones when the need arises or it may lead to adoption, we’ll see as things progress.  We’ve kept this mainly to ourselves, but this seemed like a good time to share it and help “explain” some of the business decisions I’ve made over the last 6 months.  It won’t be something we can really share, as these babies will need privacy, but if you seem me stumbling around, tired as all get out, it could be because we’ve got a newborn in the house again….lol

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season and I can’t wait to share a bit of our lives in the new year!

Red!

I can’t tell you how much fun this session was!  Even though it was freezing cold… even though we were rushing because we still had to pick our kids up from school… even though we were being watched by an entire truck of spectators!  You may recognize Sabrina from some of my other posts, but this is the first time we’ve done pictures without any exercise or kids included.  Sabrina is the woman behind Fit by Design and all her hard work of this past year meant that she really needed a fun break and a great pair of boots!

Pssst… if you are in the Kamloops area and haven’t already heard…. I recommend you head to her site and see the amazing contest she is holding… you will want to win it!

This was officially my last mini-session and we had a great time!  These two little ones have grown up so much in the time that I have known them and watching them together had me laughing like crazy!

Here are a few sneak peaks of their session.

This family reminds me a lot of my own… from the small little sister all the way to the sword-fighting brothers!  Here are a few speak peaks of their family session!

Energy! ~ Kamloops Family Photographer

It’s always said that it would be nice to bottle the energy of youth… but really this little guys would be the perfect candidate!  I am pretty sure he didn’t stop moving/running the entire session…lol  And he has the best expressions ever!

Here are a few sneak peaks of their session.

This little girl is a major chatter…. so cute!  When I first met her she was just little and certainly not talking.  So now it is surprising to hear her talking away… making her opinion know…lol

Here are a few from their family session!

This session was hard for me to blog… mostly because there were just too many cute shots and narrowing it down was a challenge!  This family has 3 awesome kids and they were so fun to photograph.  Eleanor is also half of the creative duo behind Little Pipsqueaks clothing, so of course everyone was dressed perfectly for a fun family session!  Here are just a few of my favorites.

The Newest Football Fan ~ Kamloops Family Photographer

I was so excited to get to shoot this family session.  Last year, in the midst of one of our coldest months I met up with Chris and Stephanie to shoot their maternity/family pictures.  It was COLD!  Now, a few months later I got to meet there cute little guy!  Someone who is destined to become a football fan!

Almost One! ~ Kamloops Family Photographer

This sweet little girl is only days away from turing one!  So with a birthday and the start of the changing seasons it was time for a photo shoot.  She was so little when I first met her and now she is almost into toddlerhood!

New Family of Four ~ Kamloops Family Photographer

We’ve been waiting for a while to have this session… mostly waiting on one cute little girl to arrive and it was finally time to take family photos this weekend.  We had to do a bit of dodging of rain, but we ended up with a perfect afternoon and had a great time.

Rhonda : Jen

I got the opportunity to head out of town and spend the day with Rhonda, Jen and their families in Clearwater, BC.  We had a great day getting ready for their wedding…. there were some huge black clouds and a bit of rain, but we got incredibly lucky and the weather timed itself perfectly and allowed for an outdoor ceremony.

I have never been part of a wedding that has been so funny and fun.  The laughter was flowing and even days later when I started proofing the images I had to laugh just looking at the joy and humor that was woven throughout the day.

Here is a few of the details of their day!
